Scott Addis’ ephemeral paintings, shown in his gallery in Montreal, were an inspiring discovery for me. It is rare that the entirety of an artist’s work appeals to me, but each of Addis’ paintings is pleasing and could be at home within my designs. In fact, after discovering Addis and purchasing one of his paintings for my home, I began working with a client who happened to have two exquisite Addis paintings – serendipity! His subjects are nature and simple structures within it and represent hazy realism. Color use spans the spectrum, although all of his images convey warmth.
